Welcome! This Website has been specially designed to meet the needs of the Office of the General Counsel of Digital Equipment Corporation. It does not contain substantive legal information. Instead it contains information and advice, including links to other resources, on how to use information technology to practice law more effectively. The site includes material on how to design an Intranet for a corporate legal department, information on tools that can be used by lawyers without programming skills to publish materials on the legal department Intranet, and, pointers to on-line training resources in technology and management. The site contain interactive functions. Users can post question about any aspect of using information technology in law practice to the "Webdesk." Recommendations for making changes or adding materials to this Website can be sent through the Feedback Form. A special discussion forum has been created that can be used for on-line continuing education experiences in technology and management issues, as well as a vehicle for archiving discussion among law department staff about particular law technology and management issues. One of our objectives in creating this Website is to demonstrate how a network can be used to provide on-line technical assistance and by so doing illustrate how legal department counsel can create similar Websites that can provide on-line legal assistance to their internal corporate clients increasing the legal department's productivity and effectiveness without a major increase in cost. Please let me know what you think of this project and whether it provides useful to you during the coming months. This project will become much more valuable with your feedback. Sincerely, Richard S.
